In my case it's a means of keeping in touch with my two eldest children who have now flown the nest. Also, it's how the majority of members of the English Civil War Society communicate. I suppose it depends on the type of friends you have, almost all of mine are on FB now.

Yes, I can understand that and the feeling of exclusion when everybody else is in it, but the ....learning threshold and the amount of time required to spent online, plus the mandatory ads and trinkets that come with it, has kept me off. Not to mention the privacy considerations. Nah, I'll stick with the E-mail. Imagine that: I have two (only) ;D mobile phones and I switch them off accasionally!! Can you believe that? I'm THAT reactionary!!
